God is for me, and because He is I can enjoy life every day.

Always Remember Those who Serve

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10 year old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him.
"How much is an ice cream sundae?"
"Fifty cents," replied the waitress.
The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied a number of coins in it.
"How much is a dish of plain ice cream?" he inquired. Some people were now waiting for a table and the waitress was a bit impatient.
"Thirty-five cents," she said brusquely.
The little boy again counted the coins. "I'll have the plain ice cream," he said.
The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and departed.
When the waitress came back, she began wiping down the table and then swallowed hard at what she saw. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were two nickels and five pennies - her tip.

At this moment....

1. Nina is doing well. She's on the right track and we are getting closer to the due date. Only 2.5 months to go now. What a journey! January 2nd is our next check up with her and I get to hear the heartbeat again, yea!!! I love that part. I think we may have the baby shower at the beginning of February. It will give me enough time to get things situated here in the house. I would love to paint a new nursery for her and get it all decorated, but there's no need spending money. She'll be in our room for a while anyway. Jessy didn't move in to hers till she was about a year or so old. And we were totally okay with that. Lets hope Nina is the same way. So, we'll be fine without all that stuff.
2. Hector and I leave Friday for some "us" time at his company Christmas party. We'll be back Saturday though, but oh well, it will be worth it. Jessy will be staying the night with my sister and the kids on Friday, so she'll love it! She always does. Gosh, hopefully we will have a good time.
3. Have you ever thought of life insurance? It seems like more and more I hear about people going through things in life that they never saw coming. Some are serious life issues and others not so serious. But seriously, if you don't have life insurance and you are married, or have kids, heck even own a house, you need to be covered. The younger the better is so true. Because, younger people get better rates. Non smokers get better rates as well. Get covered. If not through our company, than please do your family a favor, no matter how young you are, get covered.
4. Ameriplan, is playing a huge factor in our world right now. Millions of people are without Health Care. Most have been without for many years, but just recently we have read and seen so many stories of families doing without because the "breadwinner" lost their job. So, in that happening, there goes the benefits. Ameriplan, is not insurance, but it sure comes close to it, and in some cases, has proven itself to be better. Like Life Insurance, you never know when you'll need it. And so many of you have told us that you don't need it right now, but down the road, had wish you had it. I say that with all sincerity because I know, having to go through what my parents experienced last year, things happen unexpectedly sometimes. Thank God he had Ameriplan. So please consider it. Not for my sake, but because we joined this company to help families just like Ameriplan helped my Mom and Dad in their time of need. December's promotion is almost up, any plan for only $20 for the 1st month. What a great deal that is. If you would like to know more about it, please ask.
5. Church. Don't ever forget how important it is to come together as believers. How many times are we going to just play church. Be for real people, we can't be believers of Christ and examples to the lost if we don't take what we do seriously, and to heart. So pick what team you are on. Be true to God. Be true to your church. Be true to the calling God has placed on your life. Don't make church somewhere you go to satisfy yourself, for your gain, for your personal benefit. Make it about God, building on your relationship, soul winning, reaching and touching the World. So if you're a leader, lead people somewhere. And when you lead them, lead them to a place you won't regret taking them. If you are in a place of influence, make sure your heart is right before God, because people know it. They feel it, just like we can when someone isn't right. And if you go before God to lead His people and your heart isn't right, or in the right place, Repent and get it right. Repent means to turn, to run from, to never return....so don't just make it an excuse (God's forgiveness) for you to run around like heck doing what you'd like, because that's not who you are. You are far better than that.
* Well, these are a few thoughts laying heavily on my heart right now. Take it or leave it, but I feel there is a reason as to why I am writing this tonight. *

Baby Appointment/ Life with the Garcia's

So, I am 26 weeks now and tomorrow morning I go to the birthing center for another check up! Its an hour drive away for only a 15 minute check up. Silly huh? I know, but its all worth it. The birthing center is great.
Things have been going well for us all. We are going to the same birthing center we went to with Jessy but only this time, we get to meet all of the midwives there. Last time, we didn't know if we would get a lady whom we already met, and turned out, we didn't. =) So I was really happy about getting to meet all of them...there are a few new faces. I wonder who I'll meet tomorrow.
Hector will be leaving to Temple when we get back. His company puts on a big open house at the company headquarters and they have a night parade for the community there. He isn't feeling to good right now. He's got a cold, an annoying one! So, I'm hoping he'll be fine to go. He says he's going either way...he kind of has to. But, being the wifey that I am, I don't want him to be out in the cold tomorow night with this nasty cold going on in his body. Sucks!
Anywho. Nina Sophia has been very active here lately. Its so enjoyable! Her movements are getting to hurt and sometimes its so often. She makes me giggle at her when I'm sitting down, because she is just going to town in there. Getting to sleep at night has been a little rough because I can't seem to get comfortable!!! But, when I do fall asleep...oh its so nice!
Jessy is doing a lot better! Last week was so tough with her! I had one heck of an emotional start of the week with her. Plus, Hector was working a lot and gone out of town, so I was by myself with her!!!! Thanks to my mom for helping me, and taking her for a while. I don't know how I could've done it with out her! But, like I said, she's way better and I pray she stays on that road. She's been talking with the baby a lot lately, and every chance she gets, she never fails to give her a kiss. She whispers to her too, through my belly button! That is the cutest thing. =)
I guess that's about it for the new things going on in our world. Oh, Jessy is still potty training and doing so good. A little at a time, but we'll get there! I've learned never to compare your child to any one else, because God created them to be different from every body else. She's doing fine, and we couldn't ask for more.

Our New President

Well, Here we are. I did not vote for him or his ideals. I do however respect the fact that we live in a country where "we the people" have the choice to vote for what we believe in. I, as John McCain, will stand behind our president and respect the office he holds. I will Pray for our President's safety and the safety of his Family, I will Pray that he makes wise decisions for our Country and for us as Citizens, I will Pray that the Holy Spirit convicts his heart concerning the matters of abortion and marriage and who he appoints into our Supreme Court. One great thing that came about was the election of our first black president, It shows that in Our Country we all have the opportuinity to become whatever we want. We hold our own fates in our hands. I think one of the most tragic things in our country is the mindset that the government should be taking care of us. Providing everything we need. This election shows us that we are responsible for ourselves, If Obama could come up, get a good education, and ultimately become our Commander in Chief there is no excuse for any of us not to do good with our lives. To not depend on the government for handouts. I for one believe what the bible says about my life and yours " though your beginning was small, your latter end will increase". No matter who you voted for please do not wish ill fate for our President. Remember if our President fails we will be the ones feeling the effect. Whether it is through the economy, our country's security, foreign affairs, or anything else he has a direct effect on, we will be dealing with the consequences good or bad. So, please Pray for him. Also, stand up for your ideals. If he makes bad decisions we have the right to voice our opinions. In a respectable, orderly manner. I believe the next four years will be an opportunity for more people to get involved and have their voices heard if we see a decline in family and biblical values. God Bless you all, God Bless our President and Government, and God Bless America.

Family Day Out

Yesterday, 11/ 15, we headed out to my Dad's company Family Fall Day. It was so much fun. We started out late heading out because Jessy hasn't been feeling all that great. I was so unsure whether we should take her out or not. But, I am so glad we did. I gave her her meds. before we left and it helped us out tremendously. She was able to enjoy her time with Makiya, her 7 yr. old.

The company my dad works for is the McCoys Headquarters and so we went to the Civic Center. I've never been there before and when we walked in, it was such a cool surprise! It was like walking into a rodeo arena...maybe that's what they have there??? Well, there was hay all over on the ground and of course dirt, but it was clean and a very pleasant atmosphere. We didn't know what to expect, but Jessy was so happy when she saw everything. They had all kinds of fun carnival games for the kiddos and whether or not they won, they got to grab a prize to add to their bags. Jessy loved all of them, but I think her favorite was the ping pong ball bounce into the pumpkins. She played so much throughout the rest of the afternoon, thanks to my sis and Kiya who kept her busy.

For lunch, we had a wonderful meal of Fried Catfish, Hushpuppies, Cole Slaw, Beans, and yummy tea!!! I sure did eat good. =) Gosh, it was so yummy. Well, after a while we enjoyed so many different choices of desserts...which for me was only a few bites of a delicious brownie and a slice of carrot cake. Everything else was WAY TOO sweet for me.

So the evening winds down and after all the fun activities such as Horseshoes, Washers, Pie Eating Contest, and so much more we settled down to play a few games of BINGO!!!! I haven't played in so long. And no, I did not win a single game!!!! What's up with that??

As we headed out to go home, they had a door prize drawing. My sister Roxi won a basket with Wine....Hector had his eye on that one. My dad and mom won a 2 night getaway at some awesome Resort in Galveston!!! What a finale!

Thanks Dad, for inviting our family to go. It was so much fun! And to those of you who get opportunities to spend with your family, do all you can do go and be there! You don't want to miss out on making more memories.

Oh, and thanks to Roxi who let Jessy spend the night with her!
